Az Stout

An American Stout, conceived and named while I lived in Arizona. I remember this one fondly, except for the part where I over carbonated about half the batch and ended up loosing maybe 10% to bottle explosions in my closet. But the stout was very stoutish and the non-explodey bottles didn't survive for very long anyways.

This recipe is FULL 5 gallon boil! No special notes.

Ingredients

Fermentables

• 6.6 lbs Pale LME
• 1 lbs Roasted Barley
• 1 lbs Chocolate Malt
• 1 lbs Crystal 40
• 1 lbs Pale DME - Added at flame out

Hops

• 1 oz Columbus - Boil for 60 minutes
• 1 oz Centennial - Boil for 5 minutes

Yeast

• WLP001 - California Ale Yeast
