Beer
I've messed around at various points with home brewing beer and have enjoyed the results! Starting off there are usually several pre-made recipes to get you started off with, but I found these to usually be clones of well known offerings from craft breweries. I on the other hand wanted to try new and different kinds of beers. I'm a fan of Stouts and Porters and Belgian styles and Scotch Ales to name a few, but these are difficult to find without going to specialty distributors or specific breweries that only sell the specialty beers in their tap rooms.
These are some of the recipes that I dreamt up. Most of them use malt extracts and are written for partial boils, that makes them more beginner friendly and more workable in a small apartment kitchen.
