This is an attempt to meld the American Amber style with the west coast penchant for hopping everything to death. Ok maybe that's a bit of an overstatement on the hops, but this recipe does call for some dry hoppage which I don't think is typical of amber ales.
This recipe is for a partial boil of 3 gallons, with topping it up to 5.5 gallons before adding the yeast.
For the dry hopping, obviously flowers are preferable.
